PICHULIK AW14

15 May 2014

My love with Pichulik developed somewhat two years ago when the mutual collaboration with fashion brand Lalesso created  a marriage between the Lalesso fabrics with the Pichulik ropes and accessories (see here) , this love if fueled with great admiration and African pride each season. The AW14 campaign lookbook was photographed by Danielle Klopper with amazing  styling by Leonie von Hase and modeled by Mignonne van Eeden.

This collection is inspired by the photography of Helmut Newton and his intimate portraits of powerful women in their own personal spaces.  Jewellery is worn close to a woman’s skin, brushes her neck, clasps her earlobe. AW 2014 invites our brave lady on some close up encounters. With jewel tones and wooden parts, suede and agate stones and tassels, this collection skirts the glamour of 70s disco, and the soul of psychedelia. Kick those platforms off and dance on those carpeted floors and wooden-clad lounges till the dawn meets your cat-lined eyes.

Raf Simons x adidas Fall/Winter 2014

How amazing is the latest collaborative collection between designer RafSinons x adidas? The range composes of idiosyntric vibrant silhouettes on one foot and mininal tones that draw ifluences from the classic Stan Smith on ther other ( and by influences I mean the perforated 3 stripes have been replaced with the 'R') . The more high fashion part of the collaboration includes new seasonal colorways, camo with a bounce and what looked like moon boots, which I found hideous and did not include in this post (google them, I bet you'll agree) .

The Raf Simons for adidas A/W 2014 collection will soon be available at select retailers not sure about South African retailers though.

Giveaway | Neon Run Cape Town

5 May 2014

Hello sweets I know it has been a while and I too, am very disappointing in myself.  The truth is, I have been rather lazy lately and that lead to the lack of interest in the blog.  Anyhow, moving right along.

I recently discovered how fun running could be, along with the health benefits, I also found that it could possibly be the one thing I am actually good at. Now don't get me wrong, I am not saying I could win the Old Mutual two oceans marathon but I am really good at it.  Anyway enough about me, as you may or may not have heard the Neon Run, South Africa’s most electric and glowing 5km run, is heading for the Mother City this Saturday the 10th of May 2014 and I do not know about you but I for one am super excited.

The event will consist of a 5km fun run, through different glow zones, and will end in an electric music festival with entertainment by some of SA’s top artists including Chris Taylor, Dean Fuel, ShortStraw, The Kiffness and 5FM’s Roger Goode.

Neon Run SA aims at bringing thousands of people of all ages and nationalities together under the night skies in one exciting and unique event.  It’s all about having fun and experiencing the Neon lifestyle, whether you are running, walking, skating, rollerblading or cycling as an individual or in a group.  Participants can look forward to several amazing light points with out-of-this world light displays, fire and poi dancers, food stalls and a fully stocked bar. There will also be plenty of seating for those who wish to rest their legs after the race.

Colourful glowing paint and glow sticks will be available at the event, and participants are encouraged to wear any colours that glow such as neon and whites - the crazier the better! There will be spot prizes on the day including a weekend away at the Fire & Ice 4 Star Hotel and other fantastic giveaways.

Neon Run also aims to spread the glow in SA and have announced Life Choices as their official charity partner – a vibrant Youth Organisation working in Cape Town. Sponsors of this fun-filled festival include, 5fm, DSTV, ABI, Coca-Cola, Powerade, Runner’s World and Planet Fitness.
