#MBFWJ | David Tlale

9 March 2013

Yesterday marked day 2 of the MBFWJ, where we saw South African design heavy weights such as David Tlale and Thula Sindi  ( Review on Thula Sindi to follow) showcased their A/W2013 collections. David Tlale held an exclusive showcase at the Legislature/city hall piazza  to offer
a collection that is a somewhat Deja vu from his latest offering at NYFW. A modern day unapologetic  Golden Prince and Princess in Asian Indian influences with metallics prints and details of gold and silver. Daring and bold brocade in tones of classic black and a touch OX blood. The static models created some bit of drama and opulence. The menswear however was something I haven't seen before. Here are some of my favs.

#MBFWJ | Avant Apparel

8 March 2013

Fragile innocence meets dark twisted fantasies, Avant Apparel's A/W2013 collection draws influences from the film Black swan with an added dash of baroque. The  manipulation of sheer/lace gives  flow and  shape to create a feeling opulent romance in soft tones of white, creams and Gothic black. Simple line and embroidery also bring texture to the collection, This is by far my favirote collection from day one.
