Adriaan Kuiters + Jody Paulsen AW14 Campaign
11 June 2014
I have always had great admiration for the brand adriaan Kuiters, mainly ( more now than before) for the new approach to South African menswear, which seems to be a somewhat of a transition from the aesthetic we came to know three years ago. What began as a mere admiration turn into a strong love affair when the collaboration with my once upon a crush, artist Jody Paulsen began amid the MBFWCT last year.

#MBFWCT | David Tlale
23 August 2013
Obvz, the Mercedes Benz Cape Town Fashion Week wrapped a couple week back and considering the formidable amount of partying I was serving the eve prior to David Tlale's S/S14 showcase and the lack of sleep thereof, missing the show was somewhat disappointing. To be utterly frank I was never dazzled by David's dramatic offside location choices, however I invariably have great respect to what he offers.
With a primary focus on menswear, David offered an amazing collection that truly celebrates spring/summer season. The well assembled collection was total a winner, featuring finely tailored ready to wear suits in print and ombre-like effect, short shorts in teal and yellow with a pop of shiny gold in some pieces and of course the classic black and white, I can only dream of owning the entire collection.

The collection also includes Retro floral prints, cut-out details that invert the classic male wardrobe to explore a new kind of man, a range from bermuda skirt-shorts, tailored jackets with a painted kaleidoscope of textures and lines that reshape masculinity yet keeps the heritage of the brand.
