Stiaan Louw | SLA2 Homme Boy

By now you must have gathered that, I am a great fan Stiaan Louw's work from Atletiek to the more recent Lace and leather offering. SLA2 is a somewhat extension to Atletiek fusing Homo-eroticism with Sport-luxe influences. While the everyday South African men might some of his collections to be too provocative, Stiaan Louw's maintains his creative artistic expression to bring a collection that is not only wearable but unique. The SLA2 collection features key pieces such as, animal and tropical hybrid printed track pants, animal print fitted vest which is on my wish list and other pieces which draw inspiration from the streets of Cape Town.

Do keep an eye out on the SLA2 fashion film coming out somewhere this week, for a more homo-erotic experience.

Desiel x Edun | Studio Africa

Using raw, untreated denim, the DIESEL+EDUN collection was built around a reinterpretation of the four-pocket jean of the 1970s popular on the streets of South Africa. Malian textile prints are echoed in the denim lining and across the jersey pieces in the collection. Embroidery details reference traditional Zulu weaving patterns, while the dresses feature Kenyan metalwork. Running through the collection are four original symbols designed to reflect the heart of the DIESEL+EDUN collection.

Sergeant Pepper is a new line of clothing  soon to fill the somewhat hollow spaces in South African menswear, a proudly South African contemporary  Brand which draws a bit influences from Europe and translates them for the local market which I find rather refreshing. The new menswear brands prides itself on amazing quality, exellent cuts and textures with a bit of detailing from pockets to buttons.
