Burberry goes tribal.

8 June 2011

African tribal prints are certainly not my favourite type of fabric. Growing up in the outskirts of the city, I was always bombarded by terrible images of these prints from ndebele to seshweshwe, I just cannot dzeal.

Famous for their signature check print, Burberry Prorsum features a new kind of print, drawn from Ghana influences. I admire Christopher Bailey's bold creative direction and the need to expand the brand, however I feel Burberry and tribal print ifluences are too much of an aberration for the brand, but then again what do I know?.

Lookbooks:Burberry Prorsum pre-Spring collection for 2012 .

Creative Director Christopher Bailey and team at Burberry prorsum, gave us glimpse of the (still to be released) spring 2012 collection, by  releasing an amazing pre-spring collection lookbook. While the collection may be a little bit on the heavy site for a South African spring, I absolutely love the chic knit and classic trenches featured in the lookbook.

I simply cannot wait to see the actual collection, a lil' bit less heavy and wearable may be?
